Christmas

Well we had a different kind of Christmas around here. It turned out to be a white Christmas. . .in fact there was so much of the white stuff that we were stuck in our home for several days. On Christmas eve is when the stuff moved in. . .the highways where even closed I am not sure when that could of happened in the past but I do not remember it ever happening.

I was super bummed when Anthony suggested that we stay home both on Christmas eve and Christmas day. He could tell that I was disappointed (pouting) so he said if I wanted to go we could try. . .I knew it wasn't in my children's best interest especially since one of the places we were going to was in Edmond and the other in Norman and we are in the middle of OKC.

So we made the best of it stayed warm, sang songs, played with the kids, watched movies, played games, drank hot chocolate. It was really a nice couple of days.

This picture was taken out my back door while it was still light outside on Christmas eve and while it was still far from over!

This is my kids on Christmas eve after we were singing Christmas songs in front of the tree and watching the snow come down like crazy out the windows.

On Christmas night Caden was not about to go to sleep so he ended up coming to our bed while we snuck around the living room and helped Santa. . .once that was done we all went to sleep. . . till little Caylea bug woke us up before 8:00. The girls were so happy and excited. Caden on the other hand was a little grump for a short amount of time.

Caylea's only request from Santa was a Panda bear . . .Santa is so good!

Carolina's ONLY Christmas request was this Dora Dancing doll. . .however mommy thought she wouldn't play with it and it cost way too much for a toy that just sits around and never gets touched. . .however Santa had Carolina's desires at heart so she got what she wanted.

Caden's request to Santa was a guitar and that was really the only present he cared about on Christmas morning (yes we gave him a sucker at 8 AM and it helped his Christmas mood)

After all the presents were open, the kids ate a yummy breakfast daddy made, the toys were opened and put away, the trash was all out of the house we all went out side to play in the snow on Christmas day. . .the 14 + inches of snow.

Even daddy was jumping in the big snow drifts!

After an hour or so of playing outside in the snow everyone came inside soaked to the bone from making snow angels, having snow ball fights and just playing in yes SNOW!

After everyone got dried off and warmed up we had more of our family fun! In fact Anthony has been off since Christmas eve and does go back to work till after New Years so we have been having a whole lot of family fun this week! In fact this is mommies little Vacation. Anthony has been letting me sleep in, making almost every meal, and oh so much more. . .he even gave all three of the kids baths yesterday. I even got to go hang with my friend for several hours while he took care of Caden! I am not looking forward to next week when daddy goes back to work. Caden especially is going to have a really hard day :(

A few pic's

These pictures were taken on Monday when we finally got to get out of our house and celebrate Christmas with my mom and sisters. . .

My mom made the girls all these tutu's and I think she had the 3 boys cape's made for them. . .too cute!

And my Aunt Vickie gave all of the girls these awesome umbrella's for Christmas they all have their names on them and some cute pictures. . .Caylea's is bumble bee's and Carolina's are kitty cats. . .very very sweet and oh so cute!

The boys got a truck Caden loves his!

Oh and here is a picture of Sarah that I thought man I wish I had my flash on because this could of been a really cute picture!

Thanks so much Aunt Vickie for thinking of our kids and being so thoughful!

Good reason? maybe

There must be a good reason why my 4 year old daughter is wearing my 2 year old sons 24 month clothes. . . but for the life of me I haven't figured that out yet. . .

Christmas Eve

We ended up snowed in on Christmas Eve. . .I was kinda bummed about it for a little while. . .but we made the best of it and it turned out to be a very a nice day. . .here is one of the many video's I took yesterday.

Church Christmas Play

First a picture I took of my 3 when we were leaving the house for church Sunday morning. I thought it turned out really cute everyone cooperated really well.

The next pictures are of my girls in the Christmas play Sunday night. It was such a cute play I really enjoyed watching it. I had to ignore my darling 4 year old who was being a little ham towards the end. I knew from experience there was nothing I could do to stop her at that moment. So I just concentrated on recording, taking pictures and of course the wonderful performance.

One more video. . .this is closing. . .Caylea was so excited because she got to do the hula with Taylor and Abbi. . .I think she did great especially considering she didn't know she was going to do it till we showed up for dress rehearsal. . .so she only practiced a few times. . .already she can dance better than her momma!

Good answer? maybe not?

So this morning on the way to church my hubby and our 3 blessings were chatting about what they want to be when they grow up. Caylea wants to be a vet. . .no surprise there. Carolina was talking about some different things then out of no where she says "Daddy can I be a big Shamoo when I grow up?" To that my husband who was by this time only half listening answers "sure sweetie you can be whatever you want to be when you grow up." Caylea and I started laughing and Anthony was like what? I said do you really want Carolina to believe that she can turn into a big whale when she grows up? He was like no is that what she asked so then he said "Honey you can work with Shamoo at Sea World when you grow up or with other animals at the Zoo but you can not turn into a whale." She was okay with that!

We are having a restful this Sunday afternoon my 2 guys are passed out from staying up late playing video games (that would be my son and husband-husband of course stayed up WAY later than son). . .my girls are in the backyard! It is in the 60's today and It has been awefully cold here and I am sure it is coming right back so I sure was not going to make my girls stay inside this afternoon!

Me I am fixing to get our Christmas Card's made out so I can get them passed out at church and in the mail for those I have to mail.

Also we have a new "pet" at least for the time being Caylea found a lady bug outside and it is now residing in her bedroom.

Well I am off for now "chat" with you guys later :)

Progress

I know I have been kind of a blogging slacker lately so I thought I would give a progress report on Caden's becoming a big diaper-less boy! Also a few other odd's and end's. . .maybe?

Well Caden is doing great mostly. . .notice I said MOSTLY . . .it seems as soon as I say he is doing well he has an accident so I am refraining from saying that now. However he has slept in under ware at nap time the last few days and has done well with that. . .the next step is night time. . .only he usually ends up in our bed so that risk is something I am avoiding. . .he has however I think stayed dry at night/nap time since we started with the process so I have much hope that it will not be a problem. He has had really very few maybe less than 5 pee accidents since we started almost 2 weeks ago and probably about the same number of poo accidents . . .today went well so crossing my fingers. It would appear that maybe he is a tiny bit more difficult than the girls to potty train but still really not as bad as I had feared being a boy and all.

Last Sunday the kiddos and I went to Walmart to pick up a few things after church. While we were there we saw a Santa he was handing out candy canes and taking pictures with kids. So of course my girls wanted to tell them what they wanted for Christmas (they had never seen a Santa before or talked to one). They were so excited I had little doubt that the girls would have a problem and huge doubts Caden would get anywhere close to the Santa. However as Caden and I watched the girls I explained to him that Santa wanted to know what he wanted for Christmas and than he saw the girls getting Candy Canes from him after the picture. So he was willing and sat up there and told Santa when he was asked what he wanted for Christmas . . .want to know what that might have been? A Candy Cane. . .lol Santa was able to full fill his request right then. That made for a very happy 2 year old Caden boy!

Here are the pictures. . . well they are pictures of pictures. I wish I had had my camera with me. Oh well this is what I have :) They are actually hanging up in my living room with my other Christmas cards and will make it to the kids baby books in a few weeks after Christmas.

Gosh I wish I could get my scanner working. . .the quality is not good at all partially because I do not want to take them off the wall. . .

Misty's Unexpected Haircut

Never I repeat Never leave your 6 year old up to watch tv quitely while you lay down and try to get rid of a horriable sinus headache while the two younger one's were taking a much needed nap! If you do this may happen to your beautiful Beagle. . .

Granted Misty is still beautiful. . .she just has some chuncks of hair missing :( Poor baby girl! I guess it could of ended much worse (ie Caylea could of cut her own hair or cut the dog or herself). . .thankfully this is the extent of her experiement. . .

It's been crazy around here. . .I have been spending a lot of time at home due to "potty training" Caden was doing GREAT but the last few days he has had a few accidents. . .I am hoping this will correct himself and he is just trying to figure out how long he can successfully hold it. . .HOPEFULLY!

A Week In Review

My three making a Birthday card for their Grandma who's Birthday this year just happened to fall on Thanksgiving.

On the way to the kids Grandparents we stopped at OU's stadium because Caylea has been wanting to see it. . .she was so excited and wants to go to a game so bad with her daddy. . .we will have to work on that next year!

Friday morning I got up and went black Friday shopping with Anthony's cousin and Aunt . . .it was fun . . .just oh so early in the morning. Although I can't complain I got up at 3:00 AM, got home at about 8:15 and slept until 10:30.

We got the tree put up that afternoon/evening. For the first time the girls helped us put the actual tree together they were so excited and proud! They love doing the ornaments!

It's not completed in this picture I have not taken a picture of the finished tree yet.

Anthony's cousin and her husband came over that night and we played this game called Wahoo. . .it was a blast!

Sunday morning I woke up sick :( Thankfully my hubby let me sleep all day basically!

Felt much better Monday and we started potty training with Caden. . .he is doing okay. . .not great but not bad. . .so we shall keep moving forward. He is just not the same as my girls right before they were two and a half I just put them in under ware and they did great. I haven't lost hope that he will do very well . . .we will keep going and see what happens :)

Tomorrow my two youngest have pre-school we will see how Caden does in under ware there. I hope he does well for his Auntie! I think he is doing much better this evening than this morning :)

Well that is all for now my friends I am heading to lay down for the evening I am exhausted after all the running to the potty every 20 minutes . . .lol

Our life update

Caylea is doing very well. . .physically her asthma that was kicking up a month ago has calmed down so for that I am very grateful! I just replaced another epi pen one that expired and did NOT have to be used on my daughter so for that we are thankful! Caylea is 6 years old and we are homeschooling she is close to completing her first grade curriculum so we will soon enough be ordering second grade for her to start! A few weeks ago she read her first chapter book to me it was a junie b. Jones book. My sister Amanda that has a college degree in early childhood education told me I need to move up a grade level so we will be checking that out and see about challenging her. Caylea has been hanging with me while her brother and sister are at pre-school with their Aunt Amanda for a few hours on Wednesday and Friday mornings. We do have Lizzie also but it is nice just getting to chat with my oldest daughter and listen to what she wants to do! One day we just spent the time getting our hair and nails done. . .it was great! Caylea has been being such a big helper with Caden it is so sweet she wants to help get his jammies on him every night and read him a story. She also asks to change his diaper but I do not allow that that is defiantly not a 6 year old's job! Caden loves his sissy reading him a bedtime story!

Carolina just had her 4th birthday a week ago today! So hard to believe it seems like yesterday she was joining our little family and now she is no longer a bsby or a toddler at all! She is turning into beautiful little lady just like her big sister! Carolina has always possessed a certain trait that will serve her well when she is older. But right now that trait is wearing on this mommy. This little girl fears nothing and does what she wants without regard to getting caught, even knowing trouble will be coming her way! She is also oh so sweet and even though I like to act like I HATE it that she comes to my bed at some point in the night some part of me loves those mornings when I get to snuggle with her right before I start my day! You know she is next to you because you hear her still sucking on those two middle fingers and holding onto that pink silky blanket she has had since she was a very small baby. Carolina is really enjoying her pre-school like I have said before she knows all that they learn there letters, colors and such but she has so much fun with the pages and I am quite sure that the "class time" and structure is very good for her.

Caden my little baby boy! What is going on with him? This little boy hmm. . .I only thought Carolina had an ornery streak. . .he has shown us what that can truly mean! He is amazing he says lots of new words everyday! He surprises me sometimes with what comes out of his mouth. Caden loves music and has many times gotten Anthony's guitar case open by himself and started just playing. Caden is ready to be potty trained and mommy is almost there. We just need to say home for a week or so to get it done. I am thinking either after Thanksgiving or after Christmas we will see how it goes. I know he has it in him but is just as happy to use his diaper so I am not in as big of a rush as one would think. After buying diapers constantly for over 6 years I am not going to know what to do when I do not have to walk to the diaper isle anymore! Caden is also loving pre-school I love asking him what the F says he says it so cute! I think he had a rough time the at first because Auntie Amanda made him stay in his seat and he had to figure out how to obey but Friday he did not cry when I dropped him off so I have hope that that is over and now he can just enjoy and have a great time soaking it all in! I think I turned a corner with Caden when we went to the zoo a few weeks ago if anyone knows me and knows how I am about pictures this won't surprise you. All of our children fight over sitting on this big turtle statue thing when we go to the zoo so I told the kids we were going to take pictures one at a time and get everyone. So of course everyone did great until I got to my son he would not sit on the thing (wanna know why?. . . because I wanted him to!) So I told him he was going to sit there and I wasn't letting him up until he smiled guess what he sat up and smiled! LOL At that moment I realized he was not a baby anymore and had more control over himself and obeying than he lets on! (this in itself is funny because if you knew me when Caylea was little I was so different. . .I defiantly expected a lot from Caylea - still do I think).

Anyways that is our update for now - I know a lot of it is just ramblings and I hope you can make some since out of it.

Off to bed now I didn't mean to stay up this late. . . nighty night!

Fall pictures

I was always so good at getting my children's pictures taken . . .every month the first year and then just on their birthday's after that. However this summer it just didn't get done. So these pictures I had taken will serve as Caylea's 6 year, Carolina 4 year and Caden's 2 year pic's.

There are so many that I decided to make a slide show I know it will take a while to get thru it but there are some really great pictures. The first one is the best group then the next three are my favorite in color of each of the children. Then I tried to put the different poses of more than one of the children. After that they are just individuals.

I love them and can not wait to get them printed (no I have not done that yet. . .)

I think Kelly maybe in the works of getting a website or blog going so when she gets it up I will post a link to it.

I know this was not exactly an update . . .I am working on that . . . lol

Love my life

I have not gotten to update my blog in a little bit and I do not really have time right now. I will though try to make a post tonight or tomorrow about what has been going on in our little lives.

One thing is for sure right now I feel like I am growing and learning a lot of things that I should of already figured out about friendships and relationships in general.

One thing is for sure I love my sisters they are always there for me and never judge me and cut me a break when my emotions have the better of me! I love them so much and thank God for putting the sweetest sisters a girl could ask for in my life! I hope one day that I can be part of the Godly women that they are!

Thank you girls I love you! You guys have made the word sister more special to me than I knew it could be! (((hugs)))

Well I am off a sweet friend offered to keep our 3 blessings while hubby and I go out to dinner . . .how blessed are we!

A beautiful week!

What a wonderful busy week! I am so glad I do not have plans tomorrow! Of course the football game will be on and we will most likely have a few visitors but no set in stone plans!

I can not remember how many park trips I made this week but there were several! One day there were even two park trips. . .I just feel like I am "wasting" the nice weather staying cooped up in the house!

Carolina and Caden continued their Pre-school with Aunt Amanda this week. They also had two new classmates. So Amanda now has a total of 7 little pre-schoolers she is teaching! I will have to get some pictures of them during class but so far I haven't figured out how to do that! Amanda told me that Caden got put in time out a few times today :( because he wouldn't stay seated. The little guy has to learn! I am hoping that this will help when he is old enough to come to Sunday School. I do not really worry too much about the other one's coming in but you know how it is to have your own children in your class they always seem to act up more for mommy!

My sister Amanda did go on a job interview at a school over here by my house on Thursday. If she gets it pre-school will be over for my kiddos. I am praying for God's will in this! I hate to see pre-school go but I also know she is looking for a job for a reason.

It was so nice this morning. It was just Caylea and I when we dropped the little one's off. First we went up to the nail salon and Caylea got her nails painted (which you can see in one of the below pictures ~ however she has already peeled it all off!) while we were there I got waxed (eyebrows and lip OUCH!). Then we headed to get haircuts. I knew I needed mine cut I looked in the mirror yesterday and thought what happened I never meant to let my hair grow out that long! Caylea was going to get her hair trimmed but decided not to (of course soon after that she changed her mind again but it was too late!) Then we met some friends up at Target for a few minutes till it was time to pick up the little one's. I am so thankful because they helped me pick out some cute sweaters for the kiddos to get pictures made in! We only had Carolina left but I think I got that taken care of now :)

After we picked up the little one's we headed to my mom's for lunch. . .then back to the park! LOL

This evening I went to a stampin' up party it was great I made several cards and a little box! They are so cute! I can not wait to go again. I also joined the "club" so we will meet once a month! So fun!

Here is the blog of a friend who was there that already posted about it! (and she has pic's I have none)

http://leahnicole78.blogspot.com/

Also a friend who has not yet blogged about it but actually took a few pictures there and is going to blog about it! :)

http://mylifeinacakebox.blogspot.com/

I hope these two ladies do not mind me sharing their blogs with everyone :)

Amy our host also has a blog but I do not yet have that link and will share it as soon as I get it!

Time to close and go to bed I will leave you with a few pictures from this week! I hope you all enjoy your weekends!
