Back in Oklahoma

Last Monday the kids and I drove to Oklahoma. The first stop is always my Mom's house. My Mom put up a little tree so that the kids could decorate it when we got here. They loved it!

Brandy asked me to take some pictures of her kids. They were not really in the mood as they wanted to play (they hadn't seen their cousin's in a month!) However for the short time we got them to sit still the pictures turned out pretty good! My niece and nephews are such cuties!

I love that when I come to Oklahoma I can count on my Mom and sisters being here to welcome us! It just makes that long drive worth it! I love my family! Somehow there was not a picture of Amanda's kids in there. No worries though I got them later :)

Carolina turns 5

I can not believe how behind on blogging I am . . .I would probably just skip all of these and start at today. But this is not just a blog it's going to be printed for a memory book/photo album for my children. So I better get caught up. . .

We were so blessed that the week before Carolina's Birthday my sister and her family were in town. So we had a little party on that Saturday. We invited the neighbor girl and then we had my sisters kids and our kids. It was such a nice little party. I think Carolina was most excited about having a pizza party with her cousin Elijah. That week was the best birthday present for Carolina. I really think that her cousin Elijah is her best friend. They saw each other almost daily since she was born. I pray they have a bond that distance won't destroy.

On Carolina's actual birthday I let her choose what she wanted to do. Of course what else would a 5 year old chose but Chuckie Cheese? I so enjoyed my afternoon with all three of my kids celebrating my middle daughters life! She is an absolute blessing to our family.

Black Friday

I know some people think that people that stay up all night/early morning to black friday shop are crazy. Up until a little over two years ago I was most likely in that category. Then I was invited to go Black Friday shopping with my husbands cousin Melissa and her Mom Patsy. I had such a blast and finished my shopping in just a few hours. It was amazing!

So last year was my second year. Again had a blast. This year it was different. As we now live in Louisiana and we were staying with Melissa and Daniel on that weekend. So when we got back from all of our Thanksgiving meals with family. Melissa, Patsy and I sat down and discussed what our game plan was. They then told me that Wal-mart had changed their policy. Everything except electronics was available at midnight. Then electronics at 5 AM. Unfortunately I wanted something considered an electronic for one of my kids. So even though we were done with our other shopping in about 20 or 30 minutes we got to sit in a line for the next 4 + hours. I am thankful that I had the great company of Patsy, Melissa and Rachelle. It defiantly made the time pass by more quickly. That plus the fact we were all playing with our phones.

This was Brandy's first year to black Friday shop. I am not sure if she will go again or not. However I am glad she gave it a try. I was able to pick up what she needed that was released at 5 with no problem after I got what I was in line for. Thankfully there was not a line for what she needed.

This is Melissa and I at around midnight waiting for the okay to get what we were after. I am so thankful that her and Patsy helped me out this year I was after quit a bit. Pretty much finished everything that day just need one more thing and some gift cards.

Patsy and Melissa waiting in line with me. . .now that is love! I am so thankful also that Patsy agreed to wrap my presents so I wouldn't have to drive them (and hide them in the van) here then drive them back. So super sweet!

So after we went back to Melissa's and crashed for several hours. Patsy, Melissa and I got back up and went to the mall. We picked up the things we needed then hit the spa for pedicure's and manicure's. It was so great! I love my purple toes with snowflakes!

So needless to say I love Black Friday! I probably mostly love spending time with these great ladies though. It was a blast!

Thanksgiving in Oklahoma

On Thanksgiving we went to Anthony's parents house for lunch. Ellen made a wonderful meal. It was nice to sit and chat with Anthony's parents and Uncle Steve. Steve and I got to chat about cameras and pictures. He gave me a couple of pointers. I wish we had had more time to chat . . .however Christmas is right around the corner.

We then went to my Uncle's house to visit my family. It was such a nice visit. I was however too busy holding my nephew Caleb and my cousins little baby Olivia to take any picture other than this one.

Aren't they cuties?

Then on Saturday we had Our Lasenberry Family day which we were also celebrating Thanksgiving. We got a wonderful surprise when I walked in the door I saw my brother Lawrence who had been in New Mexico at collage. We hadn't seen him since August. He also gave us the awesome news that he is moving to a much closer collage! YAY Love you Lawrence!

This is my Aunt Connie and I. Growing up at Bodine Baptist Church I was called little Miss Connie. If you see pictures of her and I both as children you would think they were the same person! I love my Aunt Connie!

This is my sweet sweet Sister Stephanie holding Baby Caleb. Stephanie lives in Alva and has 3 boys roughly close to age with my kids. She is an amazing sister and Mother!

This is Shelly. My kids absolutely love their AM-MA. They even stayed with her and Papa for a week while Anthony and I came to Louisiana to look for a house. I so appreciate how she cares for my babies. I know they were in great hands.

Silly Chris

Lawrence and his girlfriend Allison!

Papa Larry . . .he is being an Indian and not smiling!

My absolutely amazing sisters Brandy and Amanda

The kids tearing up the playroom. . .of course :)

I got to give Lizzie her first Piggies. . .ask me how excited I was? Such a cute sweet baby girl!

We took this time to celebrate Carolina's 5th Birthday. She loves her guitar, playdoh set, game and craft sets. Thank you everyone for her gifts. Carolina is one lucky loved little lady!

Carolina was a lucky little girl on her birthday. She got to choose out of several different pie's and she chose chocolate. I didn't think I liked chocolate (and I may not really) but this one my sister Stephanie made was yummy!

And of course no post about Oklahoma is complete without a picture of my sweet newest nephew Mr. Caleb. Obviously he is a very loved little boy also! I think all of our children are!

Oklahoma City Zoo

While I was in Oklahoma City for Thanksgiving my Sister in law Rachel and her girls, my sister Brandy and her kids and Brandy's Mother in Law Nancy met at the zoo. It was a beautiful day! It is no secret that when I lived in Oklahoma I went to the zoo at least once or twice a week even when there was snow and ice on the ground. I just enjoyed getting my kids out of the house and being outside. Of course it was just a bonus that the kids loved the zoo.

I think that in a way God was preparing me for our move with the zoo. You see before a year or so ago I would never have gone and done many things alone. I got to where I enjoyed the zoo alone (well with my kids of course). I think that that transition is part of the reason this move was easy for me. That and just the fact we are only a tank of gas (and about 6.5 hours) from my Mom's house!

Here are some pictures from that lovely day!

Poor little Elijah got stung by a bee

Sarah found a lovely feather

I love this pictures of Carolina, Caylea, Alicia and Bri skipping along

Sweet baby Caleb's first trip to the zoo (I am so glad I was there for that!)

Snack time!

Nancy and I both love to take alot of pictures!

Sweet cousins checking out the sea lions :)

Silly Carolina

I was at Target with my kids Saturday. I turned around and saw Carolina walking with these.

I said Carolina put those up. . .she said "but Mom I am old!" I couldn't help but laugh. She is always saying funny things like that. She is defiantly a witty little lady.

Love her!

Caden boy!

Today while at Target I bought my son a little black and decker tool set. He has been asking for one for a while now. Yeah I should of waited till Christmas to give it to him. However I just couldn't.

This little boy Caden Robert spent all evening "fixing" things around the house.

I should of taken pictures of him "fixing" all kinds of things. That is defiantly on my to-do list. Tonight he was working on his bed. Then next think I know he comes to me with this.

Poor guy broke his screw driver.

On another note when Caden was younger probably between 2 and 2 1/2. He use to always take his screws out of his bed. It was so funny. It has been a while since he has done that. However I have a feeling that those times are coming again.

It's Begining to Feel A Little Christmas-y Around Here

Anthony usually has the Christmas tree put together and ready to decorate when I get home from black Friday shopping. However this year since we live in Louisiana that did not happen. We had also been debating because we only had a 6 foot tree in Oklahoma and our new house has much higher ceilings. We were thinking our little tree was going to look sad in the living room. We decided to go to Sears and buy a new taller tree. We went with the 7.5 foot tree. We also got a pre-lit tree for the first time. It was the best decision. Even though we paid quite a lot for the tree it was well worth it. The tree was so easy for Anthony and I basically it came out of the box in three pieces. Put them together then the branches folded down and we started fluffing and decorating. Even though it still took quit some time it was still much shorter than normally! It is so weird I have almost all of my Christmas shopping done and not one present under the tree. I am so thankful that Patsy agreed to wrap our presents so we just left them in Oklahoma. Seemed silly to drive them all the way here (while trying to hide them from the kids) just to drive them back.

It was a wonderful night with my family.

Tomorrow Anthony is going to play golf. Then the evening we are grilling some meat he bought down in New Orleans and watching the OU game.

Next weekend Anthony's parents are coming in town to watch the children while we go down to Lafayette to Anthony's boss's house for a Christmas party.

I think there is one more weekend then we will head back to Oklahoma for Christmas.

After the new year we won't be visiting quite as often probably every other month or so.

Caden

My 3 blessings ~ they are so proud!

We also found the perfect tree for Caden's room. The girls have their pink tree however I think that size of tree is too big for Caden. So I have been looking for a smaller tree but I wanted one that was pre-lit. I finally found this one and He LOVES it! So do I it takes batteries so he has been caring it around everywhere. He is such a funny little guy!
