Ready For Kindergarten . . .and more!

Kindergarten registration is next Tuesday.  I thought I had everything in order until I looked at Caden's shot record.  It had expired so I called and sure enough my poor little guy needed 5 vaccinations.

I started preparing him a few days ago.  He had such a good attitude about it all.  He is getting so big!!

I got my times mixed up so we were an hour early.

Good thing they had a television with cartoon's on.

I also had my phone so that helped.

Love him!

Meanwhile. . .we started our remodel March 21 it is now April 22.  Needless to say I am so tired of the mess.  I keep telling myself it will be worth it in the end.  It was suppose to be a 2 weeks tops on painting and 3 days to lay the floors in the whole house. . .needless to say that was not accurate at all.

When you get every wall and ceiling in your house painted and then have someone come in and put down new floors in the whole house.  Your house will be a mess!  It looks like we just moved in and everything is covered in wood dust or white mud or paint. . .

Oh well we will have it put back together soon . . .MAYBE?!?!?!

Caylea came home excited to be doing her first project last week.  She has to do a report and has to present it at school.  She had to chose someone important to Louisiana's history.

Caylea chose Madame C.J. Walker.

She insisted on getting the pictures printed Tuesday!  Even though it is not due until Friday.

Even though I am a procrastinator.  I obliged her because I pray she isn't!

I have not seen the grade from the report yet however Caylea says she did well.

I have no doubt!

Easter

After church on Easter we were invited to Longview.  One of our friends have a beauty salon there and they had a big Easter picnic for their family and some friends.  It was such a great time.

Caylea found a turtle to check out

Anthony playing ball with Carolina and Alex

Checking out that turtle some more

Caylea made several new friends

Fun

Time for an egg hunt

Caylea and Caden

Carolina made out with the egg hunt

Caden's eggs

What we didn't realize was that Junior's Mom had made and bought over 1000 eggs that they call "shell's" (of course that would be in Spanish which I do not remember)

Those "shell's" were eggs with the egg drained out, painted, filled with confetti, and tissue paper glued over the open end.  These eggs are hidden with the regular plastic candy filled eggs. . .and then broken over every one's heads!!!

I wish I would of recorded the laughter that was going on during this . . .it was so awesome!

This is Junior and Caden

Carolina probably after her Daddy got her he is after all a big kid!

Caden

Junior's Mom hooked Caden up!  After all the eggs were cracked she had more hidden and she gave a good dozen to Caden!

What a great day with some old and some new friends!  We had a really great time!

OH NO NI~NA!!!

Caylea's bunny is a lot of responsibility.  She needs to be fed rabbit food, hay and to be given water several times a day.  Her litter box needs to be cleaned out daily.

It's a good thing we love her so much!

For now, until summer I take care of most of those duties.  When summer gets here the bunny will be "full grown" so she will not need rabbit food and hay at all times.  So Caylea will take over these responsibilities.  (I am not sure yet if I will be okay with her dumping and replacing the litter at that time . . .we will see)

However Caylea's biggest job in caring for the bunny besides loving, playing with and exercising her right now is vacuuming her room each day.

It's a lot of work

but she makes it fun!

And if you asked Caylea she wouldn't trade it for anything!

This evening while I wasn't watching Carolina close enough. . . she decided she needed a haircut.

I was not happy!

She got in trouble, grounded from her DS and maybe the worst for her grounded from scissors for a week.  (she loves arts and crafts)

I think she will be wearing her hair down for quite some time now. . .

Oh Ni~Na bear!

Wednesday

I hung out with my bestie all day.  Then in the evening I dropped my kids off with my in-laws and went to Moore to catch up with a life long friend.  This is a picture of the truck I was to take pictures of her precious family in front of later in the week.

Had a nice chat with a life long friend about photography.  She is going to photograph her soon to be 2 year old in front of this old truck!  I can't wait to see these pictures!

I have so many great pictures from this week.  I haven't even finished Monday's Zoo pictures. . .3 zoo trips this week along with days and evenings with so many loved one's!

We are so blessed!

Friday

Third Zoo Trip of our spring break week was this day

I met my Brother in Law at McDonalds today. It was so great to see them they live in Alva and WA has been overseas for the last year serving our Country. I hadn't gotten to see him since he has been back. We hadn't seen the boys since Christmas. Caden sure does love his boy cousins! (he loves the girls too it's just not the same!!)

Katelyn, Caylea and Carolina playing at McDonalds

Caden and his buddy Joshua.  Caden loves him so much! I love it that he has gotten to spend quite a bit of time with him this trip. Joshua is a great kid and defiantly one I think Caden could benefit from looking up to!

After McDonalds we got to spend the rest of the afternoon with WA and the boys at the zoo!  Such a great afternoon!  We closed out the zoo :)

Caden spent a lot of time talking about his cousins this evening from things that happened, what they said, what they did, how old they are and even how tall they each are!  So cute how much he loves them (& we all do)!

Saturday

I had the great opportunity to hang with this little boy and his family.  What a blessing to me.

Love this family!

Love this little boy!  He is such a special miracle who has fought a hard battle since being born at only 24 weeks gestation.  He is doing great and you can just see how much he loves life!  I just wanted to squeeze him up!  That will have to wait though until his immune system is a little stronger.  For now I was blessed to get to spend a little time photographing him!

Sunday

The kids and I started heading back to Louisiana this morning a little after 8.  We arrived home just before 4.  We were just in time to go visit Mid-City at 5.  Brother David is moving out of state and this was his last time preaching at Mid-City as their preacher and our last time to see him for a while.  I love his preaching and already miss it.  I am so glad we were able to be there last night.  He is very gifted.

Caylea had a good visit with her friend Faith

Caden was happy to catch up with Braden.

(I don't think I posted here about Caden's eyes ~ he had a pretty big allergy eye issue the last few weeks ~ It got a lot worse in Oklahoma (including a urgent care visit and then being sent to Children's ER~ Thankfully it resolved ) ~ They are still red and swollen however hopefully now that we are home they will start looking better)

The girls at Trejos before dinner after church

Caden loves Brother David

We are all going to miss him!  He has been a great Pastor and friend to our family since we moved here to Louisiana.   It has been hard for me to close this chapter since we love Mid-City, the people and Brother David so much.  However we still believe we are doing the right thing for our family by finding a new church.  I think Anthony is close to making a decision.  We appreciate any prayers for us as we move forward.

So that was our Spring Break. . .I took hundreds of pictures.  These are just a few.  If I have time I may evening add a few more of the Zoo pictures.  Especially from the first day.

It was a wonderful spring break!
