Allergies, Asthma, A Missions Conference and Redemption

We had our allergist appointment on Wednesday. I was shocked that Caylea was put back on 2 asthma med's and 3 nasal allergy med's the allergist said her lungs were really gunky like they were last time and if we didn't get it cleared up she would end up with bronchitis (a lung infection) like she did a few months go. That wasn't easy for this momma to hear. I don't want my children to have these stupid food allergies and I sure don't want any allergy related asthma on top of it. So Caylea is on the regimen for now I have some questions so I am calling the office Monday as I was told that I could do the rescue inhaler as needed but needed to indefinitely stay on the steroid one. I am not feeling too good about that. I was also told that she needed to be kept on the patanase (anti-histamine) nasal spray constantly (x2 a day) for now. . .not 100% sure what that means.

Weeks? Months? Spring?

Caden seems to be doing well with all of his allergies. She went over with me to strictly avoid egg, peanuts and tree nuts. I told her no doubt we are to the point of driving me insane. She said that is good it's important. UGH I was wanting to go and tell them how stressed all of this was making me and have her say it's okay ease up a bit. But no I got your doing a good job you will adjust. Not exactly what I was hoping for. However me having a higher amount of stress is so worth the fact that we have not had to make another ER visit because of food allergies. So I guess counting my blessings and being thankful for God's loving hand protecting my kids is what I need to focus on right now.

However I told her that Caden had eaten accidentally (once with my friend and once I think it was his dad) some food with soy protein concentrate in it and his cheeks didn't turn red and he didn't have diareah that turned his butt into a red blister and soars. She said if he had a few exposures and no reaction since it didn't cause anaphylaxis we could trial at home. I was so excited I gave him a graham cracker with a little soy butter on it. No reaction! (except the next morning his nose started running-I tried to tell myself just a cold) then the next day he had some chicken nuggets with soy protein concentrate in them and seemed fine but a few hours latter he was so snotty and threw up several times. That evening he was horribly fussy. He didn't sleep well that night. The next day we went to the zoo and he was miserable all day. I gave him zyrtec so after his nap he was somewhat better. He is still not 100% best I can tell. I am going to wait for him to return to normal. And then try one more time just to make sure it wasn't a cold or something. I really don't think that is the case so I am going to go super slow but I have to give it one more try.

The missions conference was great this week. I wish I had gotten to be in services more but Wednesday night I had nursery and Thursday is when Caden was sick so I only made it to services last night. The missionary was really neat to listen to. My girls sat nicely with their Aunt Brandy and Uncle Chris which I was extremely impressed with.

My mom, sisters, nephews and niece came over and spent the day yesterday. It was so cute to watch the kiddos play. I especially loved watching my beautiful little niece work on making her way from the living room to the girls room to play with the other kiddos. It's so sad how fast they grow up. But so fun to watch.

Anthony was also off work yesterday so he got to spend some special alone time with Caylea and Caden taking each of them on a trip alone with him. They LOVED it. I supose it will be Carolina's turn next.

Yesterday my best friend went to some garage sales. She picked me up a book called Redemption by Karen Kingsbury. She said this was the best book/series so I have been waiting on it (from the church library). She found it at a garage sale so she picked it up for me :) I started it last night and stayed up till 2 AM reading it. I got to chapter 4 last night and kept falling asleep. I wanted to keep reading so when I kept waking up I would start reading again I did this like 2 times. Then I finally just put it away even though I didn't want to.

Tomorrow is Easter we will be heading to church. Anthony is going to sunrise service at 7:30. I won't be able to go till the next service at 9:30 because they are having a breakfast at church. They are serving eggs so Caden can't even be in the nursery with kids that ate eggs. I spoke with the allergist about this and the only way we could make it safe for Caden is to put him in a nursery with the babies who won't be eating eggs.

I am so excited about seeing all the kids (mine and my niece and nephews) dressed in their matching Easter outfits. I hope we got some cute pictures :) After church we are going to my in-laws house for lunch. It is always a fun time.

I got my kids some eggs and found two differet kinds of safe Easter candy to stuff them. I am thinking we may have our egg hunt today because I have heard that it is supose to rain all day tomorrow.

Okay I am off of here my girls are pinching each other so I guess I better be a mom and go take care of it. They have a birthday party they want to go to (I am not taking Caden because of his egg allergy just less stressful for me to leave him at home with daddy). So they better straighten up if they want to go!

I really hope I can find sometime to read my book today. . .we have a birthday party for a little boy from church at nap time so it maybe the kids bedtime before I get to read anymore. I am sure the wait will be worth it!
