Light Brigade Talent Show

Caylea singing If I were a butterfly with Daddy playing the guitar. This was at the talent show tonight. I am so proud of my Caylea who had never heard this song before Sunday! Also I am so proud she got up in front of a crowd of people and didn't become tongue tied! Her momma wouldn't of made it thru.

This is Carolina and Elijah singing Amazing Grace. This was actually just Elijah's "talent" but he wanted Carolina to sing it with him. So being the great cousin she is she hoped up there . . . (can you tell she doesn't really know any of the song besides the first verse). . .she didn't care she didn't even know she should be self conscious about that little fact!

Elijah you are amazing at singing that song!!! TOO CUTE!!!

Caylea and Carolina doing the "Caterpillar poem" now this poem is so much more cute when you see the hand motions but I didn't realize they would be holding mic's. Oh well! I am still one proud momma!

Actually I am proud of all the kids! There were piano players, some beautiful songs, a great jump roper, a guitar player, a trombone player and a wonderful show of martial arts!

Sweet Memories

Last night I could not sleep . . .eventually I found myself looking thru old pictures and videos on my old photobucket. I had pictures and video on there dating all the way back to November 2006. At that time my little Carolina was 1 year old and Caylea was just 3! There were so many pictures and although I have them on disks up on a shelf in my closet it is just easier to go thru these if I want to look back at my babies. Of course now I am wishing I had left one's on there older than that but I use to delete them after a little while.

Anyways I found this video of Carolina playing with a puppy we had for a few months and Caylea singing I'll fly away . . .so cute it just makes me smile. Caylea was 3 1/2 and Carolina was 15 months.

Count Your Blessings . . .name them one by one

I have better pic's of my children . . .Pictures without Caden's mouth open wide, Pictures of Carolina without Caylea's hair in her face and wonderful pic's of Caylea without a washed out face. . .but here it is the only picture I have of my 3 together during a recent zoo trip.

It was a beautiful day. . .Caylea had (6 year old attitude &) a beautiful sweet spirit!

I had several amazing women to chat with . . .Carolina did (not) obey the first time every time. (eventually yes BUT NOT THE FIRST TIME)

Walking around the zoo was nice exercise . . .Caden (was fussy &) sat in his stroller most of the time (which was unlike him but nice if he is going to be fussy).

Trying to teach my kids to count their blessings. . .a lesson for this mommy too!

It was a beautiful wonderful day! I praise my God for the weather, the company and my most precious little blessings!

In fact I enjoyed my day there so much I didn't want it to end and I stayed there well past when everyone else left and went home.

Really a beautiful day!

Family day . . . Park trip

Well our Mom is out of town so we didn't have our normal family day. My sisters and decide to make a park trip, walk around the duck pond and have a nice picnic with the kiddos. It was a beautiful day! I was kinda worried I was going to be cold when we were driving there. I was not but probably a good sign that I need to dig out some jackets! It was an awfully fun way to spend a few hours with my sisters (and nieces and nephews)!

Somehow today I took over 250 pictures . . .quite a few of them got edited out of course and here are just a "few" of what was left. :)

A new blog background

I have decided to celebrate my 200th blog post I would look for a new blog backgound design. I found one just perfect for Fall! I think it's super cute!

If you are reading this before Thurs. morning Sept. 24th please pray for my sister Amanda as she has a job interview. I feel bad for her because she is nervous. So please pray that God will calm her nerves and bring peace to her heart!

Also my friend Rachael lost her grandfather this last week and their family could use prayers as they grieve their loss.

Thank you so much for the prayers my friends!

Misty and Caylea

I took a few pictures of our Misty girl today while she was snuggling next to me on the couch. Caylea was finishing up her writing and the two younger children were taking their naps. She is such a sweet puppy! We love her so much!

Here are a few pic's of Caylea today working on her writing for 1st grade. She was so excited today as she told me that next year she will be in 2nd grade. After labor day when we first started Caylea's school back we were starting in the middle of the first grade curriculum. She was struggling with her math but now she is doing great. I am so proud!

Caylea's new glasses

I took Caylea to let her pick out some new glasses today. She was so excited. Her daddy just asked that we get wire frames instead of plastic. So I let Caylea choose with only that one guide. She of course chose purple. Actually I am a little surprised because Pink is actually her favorite color purple is mine. I think all of the pink one's though were plastic frames. However she was very excited. We waited and hung out with Aunt Amanda most of the day until the glasses were ready to be picked up. Actually Amanda kept all of my kiddos for me for a while so that I could take care of some things at the church.

I am thankful for my sisters I have truely been blessed with two great people for sisters! I also have a wonderful best friend. God had blessed me in giving me 3 very Godly women to encourage me along this road of life!

Here are a few pic's of Caylea I took tonight.

It seems Caylea always has something going on

Caylea and I sat down to work on her school this morning and while I was checking her speed drill sheet I noticed she was itching her hand. I looked at it and then noticed she had hives all over her arm and the top of her hand. I checked everywhere else on her and the only other place I saw a few was her ankles. I went in the kitchen and got her some zyrtec and watched her for a bit. The hives started going away pretty quickly within 20 minutes or so. The red rash seemed to stay and spread a little more over the next hour or so. By two hours after the zyrtec it was gone without a trace. I can not figure out what it could be from. I e-mailed the Ped. to make sure it couldn't be the new inhalers he gave us. He said no that shouldn't be it and as long as it doesn't effect her air way to continue the zyrtec as needed. It if continues we need to of course figure out what is causing it. He did say it could be a viral thing he has seen. Weird I have never heard of viral hives.

It kinda freaked me out for a minute I had to think about everything she could of possibly ate this morning (it was only oatmeal). . .because the only other time she had hives was when she has her anaphylactic reaction and we ended up in the ER. This is what she looked like after that reaction (and thankfully the med's) . . .obviously hives were not her only issue that day.

Anyways here are a few pic's I took after the hives were basically gone but the rash was still there. ( I took them to e-mail our Ped. He is amazing - most of my ?'s get answered thru e-mail whether it is a written question, a picture or video) . . .

Hanging out with Grandma Ina at the pool

We had a great afternoon hanging out at the pool with the kids great grandma Ina. It was a very quite day there. There was only one other man there for maybe 30 minutes of the almost 2 hours we spent swimming. The life guards were probably kind of board. I was so proud of my Caylea girl for doing this!

If you had seen her a year ago when I enrolled her in swimming lessons for 2 months at the Y you would not think she was the same kid! I think going to the spray park this summer really helped her with the whole water in the face thing. Do not get me wrong she is still very reserved in the water. I think if I had left her alone when we first got there she would of made even more progress but I had her in tears trying to get her to trust her floaties would keep her up. . .Grandma Ina got her and Carolina doing this though before long.

They liked the noodles much more than they liked the floaties. Caden on the other hand was not scared of anything. He jumped in so many times of course he was holding my hands but I let him go under water and he wanted to keep doing it. He also trusted the floaties. If they had actually kept his mouth and nose out of the water the whole time I have no doubt he would of been all over that pool by himself! I so not think they are really made for a child his age. The duckie we had is also a little too big for him the starting weight is supose to be 30 lbs and he weighs 25.

I can not wait to take the kiddos back I have no doubt if we go often enough they will all be confident little swimmers before long!

Here are a few pic's of my 3 blessings and their Great Grandma Ina.

Wacky hair night

We had a great time at Light Brigade tonight. I take the pictures for out Wednesday night program. It is an awesome job! Tonight it was maybe the best time I have had since I started doing this . . .this is my 3rd year. I can not wait to get the picture's I took printed and get them on the bulletin board!

Here is one last picture from tonight I will share it is my sister Brandy, my best friend Rae and I. How much fun we had :)

On another note I learned from talking with our Pediatrician that Caylea does indeed have asthma. Our Allergist actually told me 2 times last year that she did and to keep up with the preventive inhalers daily forever. Each time as soon as Caylea's symptoms cleared up I discontinued the use of them. She did very well over the summer. . .I did start the Zyrtec thru the spring till summer. Since the weather has changed she has started having a few issues. I e-mailed our Ped. what all has happened and he says with her history it is defiantly Asthma. So needless to say Caylea has started a regime of med's that will hopefully keep her free of bronchitis several times this winter. Sweet girl just makes me so sad she has to deal with so many health concerns. She is a tough girl though. I am so proud of what a beautiful sweet young lady she is turning into!

Caylea's makeover night

So I had the oppertunity to go to a make-over party tonight. I was not looking forward to it as I knew I wouldn't know very many people there and I do not like being without my make up on in front of people. So I took Caylea with me to keep my mind off of my worries.

I had a really good time and I know Caylea did too. It was nice to get out of the house and spend some time with my oldest little lady and some other great ladies.

Here are a few pic's from the night.
