Caylea is a big girl

I asked Caylea this morning if she would wear a bow in her hair for me today. . .her responce "If you still think I am a big girl!". LOL I told her yeah sure she is still a big girl!

Spray Park, Carnival and the Lake

Yesterday we decided to go to the spray park over at the park by our house. It is right by Patsy's house so she joined us. It was so much fun for the kids. It was really busy when we first got there because of a school field trip. I am wondering just how busy it is going to be normally?

Caylea was very unsure about getting her hair wet to start with. Aunt Patsy had was so good to work with her and help her get comfortable letting the water fall on her head. She still doesn't enjoy her eye's getting wet so she was cautious about holding her head down but I think if we make a trip or two a week soon she will be more comfortable with it!

No matter how we tried to convince Carolina to go play in the sprayers she wouldn't do it. She did have a great time though in the little fountains and just running around! Seriously she just ran in circles around the whole thing it was kind of funny to watch. Good thing she had her water shoes on or she probably would of slipped and busted her face. Then right before we left Carolina came running up to Patsy and I saying yeah I got my hair wet mom she was so excited. Patsy and I asked her where she got her hair wet and if she would do it again (I wanted a picture). She refused though and the next thing I knew she was running up saying it again obviously more wet than the last time and we missed it again!

Charity went with us too! Caylea loves playing with Charity! Funny thing when Charity came over and had her swim suit in her bag it was the same swim suit that Caylea has! Heather and Charity must have some good taste :)

Caden was content to not get in the water at all! The whole time until we were walking away he stayed glued to me! I took him under one of the softer sprayers to show him what it was about but he wasn't impressed. When we were leaving though he started walking the other way on to the spray ground. Ugh! BOYS!

This morning the kids and I went to Jack and Katelyn's 2nd Birthday party. The kids had so much fun it was a carnival theme. I have e-mailed their mommies for some cute pic's as I didn't really get any. I was kind of side tracked keeping a close eye on Caden I didn't want him getting a hold of some cake or Caylea getting a cake pop. I would of left him at home but Anthony went to Texas for the day with Daniel. It worked out fine though and I know that all of the kids there had a blast!

The cake was so cute it was a clown! I loved it and Rae made cake pop's that looked like little clowns. So adorable! Actually out of all the food that was there that is all I ate was one chocolate cake pop! It was so very yummy!! In this picture of Carolina you can see a cake pop and get an idea of what they look like. She ate the cute little hat off the top before I could get a picture . . .lol

Caden was actually a little moody and clingy at the party so it worked out that he didn't grab anything from one of the kids or anything.

After the party we came home for naps. Then we got ready and went to Lake Hefner. I like to go there to walk because both of the girls can ride their bikes and with just Caden in the stroller we can keep going at a good pace. So we walked for a while then we walked back to the park and played there for an hour or so before we went and ran around in the field between the park and the lake. The kids were so much fun to watch. Caden noticed the moon and kept pointing up saying "boon mom boon". It was so cute!

We ended up staying out there for over two hours. It was dark and almost 9:30 I think somehow we had lost track of time. So then it was home for baths and into bed for the kiddos. I should be in bed now but here I am. . .okay headed to bed now I guess morning will be here before I know it!

Cayea hanging with Patsy

When Caylea came home from Patsy's yesterday she excitedly told me that she got to hold a little Chihuahua and that she didn't know that Chihuahua's were in Oklahoma she thought that they only lived in Beverly Hills (she has obviously seen Beverly Hills Chihuahua).

She also got to hang out with Bob she LOVES Bob and she brought home a cool rose rock that brings back a ton of memories I use to find them on my grandparents land when I was a little girl. Also Aunt Patsy taught her how to get the "honey" out of a honey suckle. We found some at the zoo and I tried and tried and could never get it. Caylea also got her first ice cream from the ice cream man (a popcycle) she was super excited and is still talking about it today. Caylea came home with lots of fun stories to share with me she loves hanging out with her Aunt Patsy!

After lunch we took Caylea over to Aunt Patsy's for the afternoon. We hung out for a little while. I came home with some cute flowers that Patsy gave us I can't wait to plant them. Caylea loves hanging out with her Aunt Patsy and playing with the kitties. I think the one on one time is great for her also!

Caden went right to sleep when we got home he is not sleeping in his bed though he is sleeping in the floor. Oh well though that is much better than yesterday when he didn't nap at all!

Well I am going to get off of here and get some rest before everyone wakes up. We are going to be getting some stuff done in the backyard tonight and grill out. I am planning on going on a walk also. . .not sure if we will go back to Hefner or just around the neighborhood though?

Caden's First Night In A Big Boy Bed

I don't think I have ever written 3 blog post's in one day until today! However I guess our evening turned out rather eventful!

A few weeks ago Caden climbed out of his crib when I convertated it to a toddler bed I realized it was not at it's lowest setting so I moved it. That night he screamed for 45 minutes with no hope in site of calming down. So I tried the "crib" again and he lasted in that until this afternoon. He was "sleeping" and came walking into my room with his blankie. . .I knew then it was over.

So this evening I convertated the crib to a toddler bed. I put a swing baby gate on his door. He played for most of the time he was awake after I put him to bed. The last little bit he fussed off and on but thankfully no real screaming. I hope and pray that tomorrow goes just as well (or even better). It was less than an hour between the time I put him to bed and when he was asleep. Also he feel asleep actually in his bed with I wasn't especting would happen. Yippee

Well that is all it is so late I need to get to bed. . .night my friends!

***UPDATE***

Caden slept great and ALL night in his big boy bed. When he did wake up this morning I told him what a big boy he is and he was so excited!

An Evening Walk at Lake Hefner

Tonight we took the kids to Lake Hefner so they could ride their bikes. The weather was so nice! A great time was had by all. Anthony says this is our new "thing"! The kids will be so excited to know that! It was much more fun that walking around our neighborhood!

The day was most uneventful until Anthony came home. . .then we had a new bike, 2 teeth lost and a walk around the lake! A perfect end to a perfect day!

Breaking News

Caylea has had an exciting time this last hour or so. . . first daddy brought Caylea home a new bike today (an early 6th Birthday present) then she was messing with her tooth that I thought wasn't as loose as the other one and it fell out. . .then I tugged on the other tooth and it fell out. . .

I love all of this beautiful weather!

This last week has been so great. I have probably spent more time outside in one week than I have combined in my whole adult life. The kids LOVE it! Going on walks, playing in the backyard (swimming pool, sandbox, swing set, bikes exc), the park and zoo. It was all a blast!

Saturday was Eliyah's first Birthday party (my cousin's little girl). She is so cute! The kids all had so much fun playing with Liafail and Ellyiah (oh! and Blair!). Blythe and Carl made everything at the party safe for my children! It was great not to have to worry about Caden or Caylea getting sick! Caden wouldn't eat the cupcake or ice cream which I think is a little weird (but at one I guess weird is normal) but it was still nice not to have to worry about a crumb or contact reactions.

Here is Caden with his puppy, bear, blanket, mum-mum (paci) and car at bedtime. NO! my son is not demanding or difficult at all!

Saturday I got to go shopping with Melissa it was great. I love hanging out with her not only do we chat and have fun but she helps me with couponing which saves my family a ton of money. Her mom Patsy helps ton's too! These ladies are super talented at what they do! I think very soon within the next year or so as Caden gets a little older and more independent and not quite so needy I am going to be able to get really into couponing!

Then Saturday night Melissa, Daniel, Taylor and Ryan came over. It's so awesome now to see the kids. A few years ago when my kids were smaller the age separation was very great. Now though they play so well together. I know my kids are still quite a bit younger but it's so cute to see them play together. Oh the cutest thing for the night was when we were watching Mall Cop and Taylor was sitting in the floor my little Caden went up to Taylor and put his arms around her neck and held on tight for the longest hug it was so sweet I wish I had had my camera ready!

Today Memorial day was a blast! My mom, sisters and their families and Patsy all came over for grilling and then the guys watched the Texas Rangers vs. The New York Yankees (if you watched that game you know how my husbands team got it handed to them). Anyways the all had so much fun playing in the sand box, on the swing set, in the pool and just with each other! Then they all had a nice bath (which is just the way Aunt Chan works) then the Bell's had to leave for naps but Sam stayed and napped here while I hung out with Amanda for a while longer and Aaron and Anthony chatted and ran to Lowe's! It was a great day!

Right about now I am wishing my 3 year old would go to sleep . . .it's not happening though! UGH!

It was so cute tonight after we read our devotion book and prayed Carolina wanted to read a Devotion. Caylea began pointing to letters and asking her what it said and then helping her blend. She did great only asking Carolina to "read" 2 letter words. It was perfect too because our devotion was over encouraging your (brothers, sisters or friends).

On that note I am going to hop off of here and if my little Ni-Na bear isn't sleeping she just maybe getting a free pass to snuggle with mommy for the night! Good night my friends!

UT-OH!!

This is this mornings attempt at getting a new blog picture. Not quite what I had in mind so I won't be changing it! My camera settings were obviously off and I didn't know it. Oh well maybe next week :) . . .

I will try to update about the last few days later tonight!

In the mean time I hope this finds everyone having a wonderful Memorial day weekend!

Spring time at the Smith house means being outside!

What beautiful weather we have been having! I have decided that I am going to walk with my kids at least 30 minutes a day. Last night was the first time I let Caylea ride her bike in the street. I put Carolina and Caden in the wagon. . .Caylea did great but she so needs a new bike and a new helmet they are both way too small and should be passed to Carolina.

We were going to go to the park after lunch today but it was too crowded (some charter school sends a bus load of kids over there occasionally). So instead we came home and played in the backyard. The kids my 3 and Gabriel all played on the swing set with the bikes/cars/scooters and chalk for an hour or so then I took Caden and Gabriel inside for a nap. Caylea, Carolina and I decided to plant our tomato and carrot seeds it was a lot of work. Thankfully Anthony already pulled most of the weeds out where we were planting them. So the girls and I just had to break up the ground and work on getting the dead sticks and rocks out. I shocked myself as I encouraged my girls to play with worms and rolly poly's (ewww. . .gross! If you know me you know this goes against every fiber of my being) I wish I had taken pic's (my hands were dirty. . .also against every fiber of my being-but I love home grown tomatoes so it should be worth it). Caylea found a new friend in a worm and even cried when I made her put him back into the garden. She carried that thing around for the rest of the time we were out there it was defiantly a sad parting. Carolina wouldn't touch any of them. I truly thought it would be the other way around. My children never cease to amaze me.

Well it's 3:30 and all of the children are laying down or sleeping for the moment so I think I am going to take their cue! Good day my friends!

Baseball, Zoo and Light Brigade Awards Night

Anthony called Tuesday afternoon and said hey Mike just called me and has some tickets for the Red hawks tonight let's take the kids. I had been meaning to call the allergist because he wanted to take Caden to a Texas Rangers game in a few weeks. I hadn't done that yet though and he said it won't be busy tonight and if there are people eating peanuts around us we can move to the hill or walk around. So we decided to give it a shot. It was really a fun time. I am so glad we went. There was no one around us actually eating peanuts so that took away a ton of my anxiety.

Caden is such a daddy's boy and had a great time because he was with his daddy. I think Caden would have a great time doing anything with his dad! Carolina really enjoyed the atmosphere clapping along with the announcers, watching the game and eating a few snacks (I had packed). Caylea is yet again just like mommy. It wasn't a minute into the second inning and she asked me if it was almost over. LOL I told her no that it had just begun. I was keeping myself busy making sure I got all the pictures I wanted of Caden's first baseball game. I should of brought Caylea's camera along with us that probably would of made my daughter happy! After the game we walked across the street to the fountain the kids loved that then down the river walk and across the river to our van. I think we all had a great time and it didn't cost us anything except the gas to get down there.

Wednesday morning I got a call from my friend wanting to know if we wanted to join for the zoo. We had no plans for the day so I said sure. It was great she even offered to pick the kids up lunchables since she had to go by the store anyways. Saved me alot of time trying to pull lunches together. The zoo was packed we had to park at the omniplex (well I did she scored a great parking spot). The kids had a great time as always. Caden even got to play in the mud/water a little bit. I only wish I had taken the opportunity to snap a few pic's of that but no I was too concerned with the fact that he had splashed mud on his shirt. We saw the dinosaurs again the kids love them every time! Then we had lunch and saw some more animals before we headed to the park. That is where we spent the remainder of our time. It was late afternoon before we got home. I still had to get Caylea's home school work completed, make dinner and get ready for church. Also Caden climbed out of his crib so I decided to convert it to a toddler bed. When I was doing that I noticed it wasn't on the lowest setting for a crib so I had to lower it anyways for a toddler bed. Well after 45 minutes of screaming and a tired mommy and daddy we put the rail back on. Thankfully he can't get out (yet. . .I know it's only a matter of time). Thankfully though we bought a little time no matter how small. Here is a picutre of him in his "toddler bed" before all the screaming began. . .

The awards ceremony was great. I was exhausted from the day but so very proud of my daughters. They are such good little girls. They behave so well in their classes I never hear any bad reports of them having any rude, disrespectful or snotty behavior. I know this may come in time but for now I am so thankful that they respect authority. Caylea did so well with her memory verses and most of the year she did it on her own. She got 16 beads (one bead for every 4 verses she memorized) I am so very proud of that she was very self motivated most of the year. She did take some breaks through out the year where she would only do one or two verses I told her as long as she did at least one a week I would be happy. I didn't work with Carolina near as much as I should of but she had so much fun in her class learning about Jesus. I have been doing a devotion at night with the girls and at the end of each page it has a verse and it's funny because Caylea sees that sometimes the words are wrong because the devotion has the verses in NIV and she learns verses in KJV. I think that is one smart cookie :) Here is a short video of Caylea and her class saying II Peter 1:5-8. . .their teachers did an amazing job with them this year!

I called the allergist today about Caden's blood test for soybeans. It was taken 3 weeks ago and when I called last week it wasn't in. Anyways it came back moderate. So he defiantly has a true allergy to soybeans. His skin test said egg, peanut, tree nut and soy but the allergist questioned soybean she said it just wasn't as common and because he is allergic to peanuts she felt it may of been a cross reaction. Well no such luck I knew he was reacting to soybean whether or not it was a true allergy or a intolerance I wasn't sure. I guess it's good we know now.

Well my friends I am off for the night I am going to finish reading Return it is a great book. I just took up reading books lately my best friend got me reading the redemption series by Karen Kingsbury. I am hooked! I even read another one of her 3 book series' while I was waiting on Remember from the library. Great stuff!
