Dinner at the Boardwalk

Saturday we met some friends at Saltgrass Steak House on the boardwalk for a birthday dinner.  They were running late so we decided to take the kids on a walk around.  My kids love the boardwalk.  They love to ride the trolley they love to check out the red river.  There is just so much to see and do there.  (Not to mention the shopping :)

Three of my most precious blessings.  Caden didn't love posing for the pictures however he gave it a good effort!

Beautiful Carolina

My handsome son Caden

Too bad that the restaurant was too dark to take any pictures.

Louisiana State Museum

Caylea went to the Louisiana State Museum today on a field trip with her school.  She told me all about it.  She had a lot of fun!

Caylea tonight after dinner :)

Caylea's teacher puts pictures up on her website.  These are from the Field trip today.

We visited a church and we met Heather and her Family.  She invited Caden and I over for a play date.

This is Bryleigh she is 2 years old and a twin.  Her twin brothers name is Braxton.  These kiddos loved me and I was happy to get to hold and love on them during our visit.

Kensington is one years old she is such a sweet heart.  Heather is also pregnant with another little girl.  Due in July.

Caden really enjoyed playing with Bryleigh and Braxton

So many friends for Caden

Last Friday after school we meet some friends up at the park.  It was a lot of fun!  I love watching the kids play with each other.  (I love chatting with my friends also)

Carolina's Mardi Gras Parade

Carolina had a Mardi Gras parade at school on Fat Tuesday.  Here she is ready to go.

Throwing beads

Mrs. Man was Carolina's student teacher at the beginning of the year.  She loves the kids so much that she comes back and helps on special days.  She is so sweet!

I asked Carolina why she wasn't throwing her beads faster.  She told me that the kids were too crazy.  I think she was overwhelmed.  She threw some beads however she walked slowly and tossed them.

Such a sweet girl

Caden had a lot of fun at the school watching the parade and seeing all of the floats

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Caylea has been so excited to get to go to the daddy daughter dance with her dad.
We were going to go pick out a dress however things have just been so crazy I went and picked one out this week while Caylea was at school. Thankfully she LOVED it!

Anthony and Caylea all ready to go.
(Very disappointed with these pictures especially this one. . .I guess that is how it goes when you take a camera you've only shot with once before and try to grab pictures without checking all of the settings first ~ I still love my new camera just UGH!! )

Carolina and Caden wanted in the action of course!

I took Carolina and Caden to one of my new favorite places to eat called Newk's. Then we ran to the grocery store to pick up some ice cream and "fixing's" for sundae's.

I gave Caylea a camera in her purse to take pictures. It looks like Daddy took most of them though.
So much fun with her friends

Caylea and her teacher Mrs. Miller. I don't even know how to express how much we love her. I am so thankful for her. I do not think Caylea could of gotten a better teacher anywhere. I just feel blessed that she has been with us through this journey. It hasn't all been easy (the adjusting to public school) however it has been worth it to see how Caylea has grown and learned so many new things. Not just academically but socially and in many other areas. I hope Carolina and Caden have her for their teacher when the time comes.

Anthony and Caylea

I do not think Caylea could look any more happy!

Some Pictures

These were taken a few weeks ago.  The day after I got my new camera.  I am still learning how to use it.  I think the learning curve will be longer than I thought.  It seems the same in  a lot of ways as my t1i.  However the pictures come out different.  Sometimes better sometimes not.  I will figure it out though~

Caylea, Carolina and I headed out for a walk/bike ride one day while Anthony and Caden went for hair cuts and a few other errands.

Caylea after a blue slushie :)

Carolina

This is my favorite one from the day.  I remember feeling so blessed at this very moment.  I still am and feel that way but sometimes the feeling comes over me and it is so strong.  Just thinking back about the last several years and being thankful for where we are in our lives right now.

Valentines Day Parties

The girls both had Valentines parties at school.  They overlapped but thankfully Carolina's was longer so I got to go to hers for a little while before going to Caylea's.

Carolina with the cute bag she made for her Valentines.

Carolina's teacher Mrs. Green reading the class a story while the parents set up the party.

Caden, Carolina and I at Carolina's party.  Caden was a lucky boy and got treats from both classes!

Caylea at her class party.  Caylea's friends Mom made chocolate covered strawberries that were so yummy (yes I had one!)   However they were not safe for Caylea so her friends' Mom was nice enough to bring some plain strawberries for Caylea.  There were actually a lot of treats that she could not have however I am so happy with the way she handled herself.  The classroom is nut free so there actually no nuts in there just issues with cross contamination.  I have actually not have one problem with a class party.  However I am homeroom Mom so I do send out reminders about no nuts with the information about the party.  I will always be on hand to help in whatever way I can and be as involved as possible however I am not sure if I will ever sign up to be THE homeroom Mom again.  It is A LOT of work!  Plus now with most of the first year under our belt I am confident in the school and Caylea!

More treats for my little man!  At Carolina's party I noticed Caden's checks start turning red they stayed that way for a few days.  I was worried that he was starting to react to peanut butter.  So I told him not to eat it anymore.  However about 3 day's later something clicked in my head and I realized it was 5ths disease.  No big deal just had to run it's course.

Caylea and her best friend Layla on Valentines Day

That evening we spent together as a family.  We went out to dinner and then watched a movie.  It was a wonderful day I spent loving on my family!

We had so much fun hanging out with our friends Carl and Karen in South Louisiana last weekend.

Here are a few photos from the Mardi Gras Parade in Scott.

Even the biggest kiddo joined in the playing

Caden was so excited about the police officer shaking his hand.  He even talked about it after we got back home that evening.

The parade is starting

After the parade Karen took this picture for us before we headed back to North Louisiana.

We are blessed to have so many friends.
