Caden

My little handy man thought sleeping was over rated and decided it would be more fun to take his bed apart!

The girls and I went to the eye doctor yesterday. Cayleas eyes are +7.75 and +8.50 I think this is fairly close to what it was last year. Carolinas eyes are now both +5 however he did not make her prescription that strong it's about 1/2 way between what her old glasses where (which is 3 in both) and what it should be. I think next year he will put it where it should be.

My eyes are like +1.75 and +3 which about what it has been for many years. I use to could go most of the time with no glasses and maybe eventually get headaches. So if I would just wear them (or contacts) a few days a week I was good. Well back in nov when I got my iPhone ( so I thought it was my phones fault) I started having problems focusing in the evening. Then over the next few months I needed them anytime I am reading for any length of time. It was like my eyes just got tired of focusing. So I told the doctor I was surprised my prescription wasn't stronger bc I have been having more focusing problems. He said no I was just getting older and my natural focusing abilities are diminished.
Nice I guess I am just getting old!
They said the girls get their eyes from me :(
I feel bad because their eyes are a lot worse than mine!
The nurse also said right to Caylea after measuring her eyes " oh my you have bad eyes" Caylea looked so sad. I think if Caylea didn't already have issues hating her food allergies it wouldn't of upset her so much and in turn me!
Anthony and I are working on telling all of our kids how great they are. I really do have the most amazing kids and I pray they always know that!
Caylea with her new frames. We should have the girls new glasses next week.

Carolina had to get her eyes dilated. She wasn't so happy about it. She was pretty whiny and needy most of the evening because she couldn't see well. Here she is resting in the church nursery.

This school thing has been so stressful for me. I haven't even got to go speak with the nurse yet because I am wanting to make sure she gets into school first!
I called at the beginning of the week and the school said she didn't need to be tested. It has bothered me all week and just didn't seem right. So today I called the school again she told me that wasn't right. (surprise!!!!). She told me to call the bossier parish school board evaluation center. I did that and after a few hours I didn't get a call back. I decided to go up there. I went to the special needs office and so she sent me to another building. I went there and got sent to two different offices and neither of them could help me. I just kept getting sent somewhere else. They told me she had to be tested at the school. I called the school again. The receptionist gave me another person to call. I did that and surprise no one called me back today.
I almost just want to give up and homeschool her for another year. If they both weren't so darn excited I probably would.
Anyways please pray for me that we get this figured out quickly school starts on the 10th.
Night friends!

Caylea's Life

Caylea started a new blog today. . .she is writing her first blog on her computer as I type this.

We realized today that Caylea does not know how to tie her shoes and since she will be in third grade we probably needed to teach her. . .

After some encouragement and patience I can proudly say my daughter can now tie her shoes (that is if we ever buy her shoes with laces)

My girls are so ready for school Caylea asked me yesterday why they couldn't start early. I really hope they like it because we are committed for a year! If it doesn't go well we will go back to homeschooling next year. I am thinking about homeschooling Caden for kindergarten anyways. We already have the stuff and he will be newly 5 and a very hyper boy. A think an extra year at home may just be what he will need. We shall see. Carolina is only going because she wants to. I would be more than happy to home school her for kindergarten also. She would think I was being horrible if I made her (and I would be okay with that only I think she will thrive in public school). She is super excited about new friends and I think it will be good for my outgoing 5 year old. I guess we will just have to wait it out and see what life has in store for us.

By the way if you are a reader of my blog and want to have access to Caylea's blog let me know. I will be more than happy to send you an invite :)

Science Museum Oklahoma

The day before we left Oklahoma we got to meet my sister Stephanie and her 3 boys at the Science Museum. I am so thankful because I hadn't gotten to see my sister or her boys since I was in Oklahoma the time before in March. Especially now since it looks like the girls are going to be in public school. Our visits to Oklahoma are going to be even less. I am thinking our next trip (if all the school things work out) will be Thanksgiving.

Anyways we had such a great time. I love all of my family so much. I think they are absolutely the best family ever! I can't wait to see them again!

The kids had so much fun with each other and checking out all of the cool exhibits. The adults (sisters) had a blast chatting and keeping up with all of our kiddos!

I love this picture of little Mr. Caleb!

Splash Park

July 5th the kids and I got up and met my friend Rae and her kids at a splash park in Oklahoma City. I had a great time catching up with her we chatted for quite a while. Actually the kids were done playing in the water before we were finished talking. . .lol

That evening Brandy, Amanda and I met my Aunt Connie for dinner at McDonalds to catch up. I am so thankful to get to see my family so much. Living so far away it could be worse. I realize that I am very blessed and lucky to have gotten to see them so much this last year. We are working on seeing about the girls going to school this year and if they do I realize our trips to Oklahoma will be a lot less and shorter at least during school months.

Fourth of July

Our first stop on the fourth of July was my uncle Vernon's. We got to see a lot of family that we hadn't seen since Thanksgiving. It was so nice

Here is Sarah and Robbie petting Nathan's little dog Fry.

I thought this was super cute of Elijah

Caden playing pool . . .so funny!

After lunch and some hanging out with family we headed out to Blanchard. This is the first time we have been there since my Dad died. I won't lie it was pretty hard for me to be there. The kids had a great time so I think that helped. Stephanie and her boys couldn't be there because Will was sick.

Caden and Unc (my brother Lawrence)

Little Caleb boy ~ he is getting so big!

When it started getting dark we headed over to do fireworks. Carolina was scared and spent the night in Anthony's truck. She actually ended up doing better than I thought she was going to do. I thought we would be leaving quickly she is just so scared of loud noises (even balloons popping). Anyways the fireworks were great. Caylea, Elijah, Caden and Sarah had a blast and of course so did the "big boys".

Beautiful fire works and lots of ew-ah -ing going on

Here is my post from last July's Lasenberry Family Day. We now have Caleb and soon little Khloe my newest niece will be here to love on. However Papa is missed very much!
